Ritenour Middle School has a "Do-It-Yourself Upcycling Club" where students turn trash into treasure by making old stuff into useful and/or re-purposed items. Hoech Middle School has "Green Club" where students learn ways to become more environmentally responsible and engage in service projects within the school and community. Hoech also has an outdoor learning area in the courtyard, along with a green house, natural prairie, native plants and a vegetable garden.
