10901 St. Henry Ln Purchase FAQ

The Ritenour Board of Education signed an agreement to purchase the former Holy Trinity Parish property located at 10901 St. Henry Ln in St. Ann.

The purchase was finalized on August 13, 2024, with a purchase price of $1 million.

The 3.92-acre site was the former location of Holy Trinity Parish and school. The property includes 30,000 square feet of total building space - featuring a main school building and a separate building with five additional classrooms.  The Archdiocese of St. Louis closed Holy Trinity School in 2020.

The district plans to expand student programming by relocating the International Welcome Center (IWC), the Center for Gifted Education, and the additional early childhood classrooms to this new location.  It will provide additional space for these programs.

The new property is crucial for supporting the district's growing educational needs, providing additional space and expansion for the IWC, Gifted Center, and alternative programs.  This addition also frees up much-needed space at Hoech Middle School and Ritenour Middle School for further increases in enrollment.  The new space allows Ritenour to expand and build for the future.

The district is using certificates of participation (COPs) to finance the purchase. COPs are low-interest, lease-financing agreements that spread payments over a longer period instead of requiring a single large payment. COPs are a form of financing school districts, municipalities, and local government agencies use to acquire real property and fund capital projects.

Ritenour School District will officially take ownership of the property on August 20, 2024.

Because it was recently an active school, the property is in great shape. Programs are anticipated to start transitioning to the new space at the start of the 2025-2026 school year.
