Work-Related Injuries

Ritenour Welcomes ConcentraⓇ as New Preferred Provider for Work-Related Injuries

ConcentraⓇ will be Ritenour’s new preferred provider for Ritenour employees who get injured on the job. Starting Jan. 1, 2025, Concentra will replace BarnesCare as the preferred provider for employees who sustain work-related injuries. This transition was made, in part, based on staff feedback requesting a provider with extended hours and bilingual services to better meet employees' needs.

Concentra offers more locations in the St. Louis area and is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. They also offer immediate onsite bilingual services and rehabilitation services such as physical therapy at each of their locations.

Ritenour employees who get hurt on the job should follow the steps below.

  1. Contact your immediate supervisor/building leader.
  2. If the incident occurs during school hours, the injured employee should see their school nurse immediately to be evaluated. If the incident does not require an emergency transfer to a hospital by first responders, the school nurse will provide the injured staff member with paperwork to bring to a Concentra location and will notify Wendy Jackson, Ritenour’s interim human resources manager. Please know the school nurse will contact 911 if the injury is limb or life-threatening.
  3. If the incident occurs after school hours and the nurse is not present at the time of the incident:
    1. The Ritenour employee should go directly to a Concentra location (if open) or an emergency room at a local hospital. Ritenour custodial and maintenance staff members who work evenings should contact Roger Robles at (314) 598-5956
    2. The employee should contact their school nurse the following school day with details about the incident.

Please note that Special School District employees who work in Ritenour buildings should contact their SSD supervisor and SSD Human Resources Department for instructions regarding a work-related injury; other contracted employees who work in Ritenour buildings should contact their supervisor and their company’s Human Resources department.
