Welcome to the 2026-2027 School Year
Dear Buder Families,
Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! I hope you and your family had a restful, safe and joyful summer break. As we prepare for another year of learning and growth, I am excited to partner with you in supporting your child's academic, social and emotional development.
This year's theme is "Duck, Duck, Boost! Buder is Blasting for New Heights!" This theme reflects our commitment to helping every student reach new heights in both academics and social-emotional growth. We encourage every child to grow at their own pace, build on their strengths and embrace challenges with confidence. At Buder, we believe that every step of progress - big or small - is worth celebrating!
Attendance will continue to be a major focus this school year. We expect all students to attend school every day, arrive on time, and remain engaged from bell to bell. Instructional time is valuable, and every minute counts. Our attendance goal is 90% this year. We will continue to strengthen our attendance efforts and work together to ensure every student is present and ready to learn each day.
We would like to extend a special welcome to all of the families who are new to the Buder community. We are so glad you are here! I would also like to welcome our new staff members as they join the Buder family.
- Mrs. Meredith Alton, assistant principal
- Virginia Lohrmann, Special School District (SSD) coordinator
- Ms. Emily Gabrisch, P.E. teacher
- Ms. Jewel Wilkes, third grade teacher
- Ms. Daniella Sanchez, fourth grade teacher
- Ms. Zineb Benchabane, fifth grade teacher
We know that strong partnerships between home and school play an essential role in student success. Throughout the year, we will communicate regularly and provide opportunities for families to be actively involved in their child's educational journey. To keep families informed and engaged, we use a variety of communication platforms, including ClassDojo, Facebook, automated calls and text messages, email and personal phone calls.
We also encourage you to get involved by joining our Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO). Our PTO provides wonderful opportunities to support our students, staff and school community. If you are interested in joining or would like more information, please contact Christina Kuntzman by email for more information with this email address: ptoatbuder@gmail.com. We would love to have you as a partner in making this school year a success!
Finally, please take time to review the Buder Family Handbook. The handbook outlines key school procedures and expectations, including arrival and dismissal routines, attendance policies, birthday treats, cellphone policies, and other important details to help ensure a successful school year for everyone.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Together, we will make the 2026-2027 school year an incredible one filled with learning, growth, and success for every student.
We look forward to seeing everyone soon!
Sincerely,
Dr. Melisha Mack
Principal
