Car Rider Arrival Procedures
To keep students safe and to keep the line moving, please follow these six rules for car rider arrival.
1. Supervision begins at 8:15 a.m.
- Students are not supervised prior to the building opening at 8:15 a.m.
- Before school, Y-Club is available for families.
- Traffic is not monitored until 8:15 a.m. Please be very watchful for pedestrian traffic.
2. Street drop-off is strictly prohibited.
- There is no drop-off or pickup at the street curbs in front of the school after 8 a.m.
- Dropping off kids on Sims is not only unsafe, but it also creates a delay for other cars in the line.
3. Students should quickly exit the car when it stops.
- To keep the line moving, students should be ready to quickly get out of the car.
- If your child will need extra time, please use any of the parking spaces in front of the school near the crosswalk.
- For safety reasons, all students should unload on the passenger side.
4. Pull forward as far as possible before unloading.
- All cars should pull forward to the farthest empty number.
- Stopping short creates a delay for the entire line.
5. When crossing the lot, always use the crosswalk.
- Any student or parent needing to cross the parking lot must cross at the crosswalk.
- A staff member will let you know when it is safe to cross.
6. Drive safely through the parking lot.
- Drive slowly through the parking lot.
- Follow the direction of traffic and obey the traffic signs.
