Adult Education & Literacy

Thank you for your interest in the Ritenour Adult Learning program! New and returning English language learners and High School Equivalency adult students are welcome to attend enrollment on one of the following dates:

• September 18, 2025, 5 - 9 p.m.
• October 16, 2025, 5 - 9 p.m.
• January 15, 2026, 5 - 9 p.m.
• February 19, 2026, 5 - 9 p.m.
• March 19, 2026, 5 - 9 p.m.

The Ritenour Adult Education & Literacy (AEL) Program provides free services that help adult students obtain the skills necessary to earn a High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma, prepare for post-secondary education, become U.S. citizens, improve English-as-a-Second Language (ESL) proficiency, find and keep a job, and achieve other academic, employment, or personal goals. Students attending any classes in any program of AEL must be at least 17 years old or 16 years old with 16 high school credits, no longer attending high school, provide documentation from previous school, and attend a mandatory orientation.

All programs are free, including supplies. Classes are available Monday through Saturday in the mornings, afternoons and evenings at the Adult Learning Center, 3312 Ashby Road, 63074 (North Wing of Hoech Middle School). For more information about registering for classes, call 314-684-0125.

• HSE (High School Equivalency) Preparation
• Literacy Services/Adult Basic Education
• English-as-a-Second Language (ESL) Classes
• Online Registration and testing
• Workforce and college preparation

All Classes are FREE!
