New Parent Portal and Grading System

Ritenour has a new student information system (SIS) and a new grading platform for the start of the 2024-2025 school year.

Families will use the PowerSchool Parent Portal to see student information such as attendance, student schedules and teachers, student/family demographic information, and emergency contact information. Families will be able to view all of their children’s information under one Parent Portal account.

The new Empower grading system will be where families can access their children’s grades and assignments for students in grades K-12.

More information on each of the systems is included below:

PowerSchool Parent Portal

PowerSchool has replaced Tyler SIS as Ritenour’s student information system and parent portal. All families should have received an email from PowerSchool with a username and temporary password to set up an account in the Parent Portal. If you have not received information about how to set up your account, please contact your child’s school.

You can access PowerSchool at ritenour.powerschool.com

Empower Grading System

Empower is the district's learning management system that tracks students’ grades and aligns with Ritenour’s transition to Competency-Based Education. Empower is a platform where students, teachers, and parents can see evidence of student learning and scores on assessments. Empower makes what's happening at school transparent for parents and students.

Students use Empower to access class content, submit assignments, take assessments, and view progress. Parents can see everything their child can see: course content, assignments, grades, and whether their child is "on pace." Families with multiple children can see all of their students under one account.\

In late August of 2024, parents and guardians will receive information about how to create an account for this new system so they can monitor their children’s progress in their classes. View this introductory video about Empower:
