Ritenour Community Engagement Meeting Tuesday, May 20

Please join us on Tuesday, May 20, to continue working together to define the future of Ritenour School District. Our community engagement meeting will take place from 5:15 - 7 p.m. in the Ritenour High School Auditorium lobby, located at 9100 St. Charles Rock Road. Dinner will be served from 5:15 - 5:45 p.m.  

The event will feature Superintendent Dr. Chris Kilbride’s annual State of Ritenour presentation, followed by a session titled “Building Responsibility at Every Age” hosted by Ritenour’s Parent University.  The session will focus on fostering responsibility in students from preschool through high school. We'll begin with a brief overview of the updated PATH competencies — Prepared, Adaptable, Thoughtful, and Honorable — which guide our work in helping students grow as learners and individuals. After the overview, we will divide into groups by grade level for targeted discussions:

  • Preschool–5th Grade: Explore key responsibility milestones for young children, such as getting dressed independently and putting toys away. Learn strategies for having meaningful conversations at home about responsibility, including what responsibilities are appropriate at different ages.
  • 6th–8th Grade: Participate in a discussion with students, focusing on how parents can ask the right questions to encourage responsibility in areas like completing homework, managing chores and getting to school on time.
  • 9th–12th Grade: Examine responsibility in the context of social media. Through student role-plays, we'll discuss how teenagers can respond to online situations responsibly and how parents can support thoughtful digital behavior.

This session offers practical strategies for families to help students build the skills and habits needed to become Prepared, Adaptable, Thoughtful, and Honorable members of their communities.
