Businesses and Organzations Donate Thousands of School Supplies for Ritenour Students to Start the 2024-2025 School Year
Several local businesses and organizations organized school supply drives to help Ritenour School District students have a successful start to the 2024-2025 school year.
Thousands of school supplies, backpacks, calculators, facial tissue, paper towels, and other important items were donated to the district in August. School counselors and social workers will distribute the school supplies to students throughout the school year.
- For the third consecutive year, SSM Health DePaul Hospital staff collected thousands of school supplies and other items for Ritenour students to use this school year. The donations, which filled an entire minivan and included hundreds of mesh backpacks for Ritenour High School (RHS) students, were distributed to schools throughout the district.
- Employees from Maritz, based in Fenton, Mo., donated three carloads of school supplies and printers. The supplies were delivered to elementary schools by representatives from Teach for America on Friday, Aug. 16.
- Reliable Biopharmaceutical staff members collected four carloads of filled backpacks for Ritenour students. In total, the company donated more than 300 backpacks that were stuffed and delivered by employees from the company on Aug. 15. Reliable Biopharmaceutical is located at 1945 Walton Road in Overland.
- Employees from Classic Aire Care collected four large boxes of school supplies for Ritenour elementary school students. Classic Aire Care is an HVAC and plumbing company located at 1276 N. Warson Road. The supplies were delivered by DeAnndrea Brand from Classic Aire Care on Aug. 23.
- Stroco Manufacturing donated two large boxes of school supplies for students and Kleenex for Ritenour classrooms. The company is located near Lambert International Airport in Hazelwood.
- Harmony Church St. Louis, located at 2730 Walton Road, partnered with Laurie’s Shoes in Kirkwood to provide footwear for RHS students. In all, 487 pairs of shoes were donated, including brands such as Nike, New Balance and UGG. Ritenour High School’s Leadership students organized the shoes by size and got them ready to distribute to the community.
“We are so grateful to have community partners who are making sure our students have the resources they need to start to school year strong and make it possible to replenish their supplies as needed throughout the year, said Ritenour Superintendent Dr. Chris Kilbride. “It takes an entire community to help us reach and teach Every Ritenour Student, Every Day.”
