Dr. Evelyn Gilliam Selected to Receive Caring Educator Award

Ritenour School District Director of Professional Learning Dr. Evelyn Gilliam has been selected to receive the Edward and Esther Haywood Caring Educator Award, presented by the Charles E. Fleming Legacy Foundation.
The award recognizes educators who demonstrate consistent and exceptional care and commitment to students. Dr. Gilliam will be honored by the Foundation on Dec. 6, 2026, at the Chase Park Plaza Hotel in St. Louis.
As Ritenour’s Director of Professional Learning, Dr. Gilliam leads and supports professional learning opportunities designed to strengthen instruction, develop educators and support student success throughout the district.
“We are extremely proud of Dr. Gilliam and congratulate her on this well-deserved recognition,” said Ritenour Superintendent Dr. Chris Kilbride. “Dr. Gilliam’s commitment to students and educators is evident in everything she does. She understands that caring for students begins with creating environments where they feel supported, valued and challenged to reach their full potential. In her leadership role, she extends that impact by helping our educators continue to grow and strengthen their practice.”
