Free Kindergarten Readiness Camp Set for July 28-Aug. 1

To help with the transition to kindergarten, Ritenour offers a free half-day camp July 28-Aug. 1 for incoming kindergartners at each of the district's six elementary schools. Students must be enrolled in the district to attend the camp. Students must be enrolled in the district to attend the free Kindergarten Readiness program. 

For the camp, parents can pick a morning session (8:30 to 11:30 a.m.) or afternoon session (12:30 to 3:30 p.m.) when they register based on their child’s preschool experience. 

Students must be 5 years old on or before July 31 to register for kindergarten. The weeklong program will introduce students to entry-level kindergarten skills and ease the transition to school. Other benefits include interacting with future classmates and teachers and allowing them to become familiar with their new school.

Incoming kindergartners get a chance to meet new friends, become familiar with the school and kindergarten activities and get to know teachers, who will be leading the camp.
