Important Student Testing Set for April 21 - May 15, 2026

MAP testing

This is a critical year for Ritenour, as the spring assessment results from our students will heavily impact our accreditation. Ritenour students must improve their performance on standardized tests, and the district must have all committed to the goal.

All Ritenour students in grades 3-8 will be taking the Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) tests April 27-May 15. High school students and students in high school credit-bearing classes will be taking End-of-Course (EOC) exams during this time period. Students in grades 3-8 are taking tests in English language arts and math. Fifth graders and eighth graders also will take assessments in science.

EOC exams for high school students are in Algebra I (including for eighth-graders who are enrolled in Algebra I), English II, Biology and Government. Some students also will take an EOC in algebra 2. Graduating seniors, including Missouri Options students, who have not completed an EOC in these courses also must take them at the assigned time this spring.

In addition, Ritenour students must show growth in their learning over the course of the year, from the first test to the fifth and final test when they complete STAR testing. Students in first through 10th grades will take their final STAR tests April 21 through May 10. This is the assessment we use in the district to make instructional decisions and measure performance.

Ritenour teachers have been working purposefully with every student to help them “level up” throughout the year as part of our competency-based education approach, which helps students understand exactly what they are mastering and areas where there are opportunities to improve. Teachers are providing additional support to help students level up to levels three and four in all subject areas.

As test season approaches, families can help ease test anxiety and help their children be prepared to do their best on these upcoming tests by:

  • Avoiding doctor appointments and other absences during this time period.
  • Arriving at school on time each day; testing usually begins immediately after class starts.
  • Providing a nutritious breakfast or encouraging your child to eat a school breakfast.
  • Encouraging reasonable bedtimes to ensure a proper night’s sleep.
  • Expressing confidence in and encouraging him/her to do his/her best.
  • Ensuring their child brings their Chromebook to school fully charged on the day(s) of testing.
  • Giving plenty of hugs and support!

Thank you for partnering with Ritenour educators to help students do their best on these important exams!
