Iveland Showcase Brings Learning to Life for Students and Families
Iveland Elementary’s gym was overflowing with student work and community resources on April 16 as nearly 100 students and family members came together for the school's annual Iveland Showcase Night.
Every grade level showcased stellar examples of student learning. From colorful art displays to hands-on science and math projects, every corner of the gymnasium offered something to explore. Families joined students in high-energy activities like drumming with the music teacher, playing basketball with the P.E. teacher and diving into cool STEM experiments led by the school librarian.
The evening also featured several community partners who provided resources and fun giveaways. The Overland Police Department’s DARE officer was on hand, along with representatives from the St. Louis County Library, the National Council of Jewish Women St. Louis, CHADS Coalition, the Ritenour Co-Care Food Pantry and the Challenger Learning Center of Florissant.
“Our spring Showcase is always a highlight for our students and families,” said Iveland Principal Amanda Connelly. “Families have a chance to see some amazing student projects that they’ve worked on and enjoy time with other families with some fun activities. Plus, we are so thankful for our community partners who come with their giveaways and resources that our families really appreciate.”
