Ritenour Announces New Administrative Team at Wyland Elementary

New Wyland Admin Team

The Ritenour School District is pleased to announce Ramone West as the new principal of Wyland Elementary and Dr. Cheri Oliver as the new assistant principal, effective July 1, 2026.

West brings a strong background in instructional leadership and student support. For the past three years, he has served as assistant principal at Buder Elementary. Prior to joining Ritenour in 2023, he was an assistant principal intern at Independence Elementary in the Francis Howell School District and previously served as an assistant principal at Carondelet Leadership Academy in St. Louis. West began his career as a classroom teacher, spending 11 years teaching grades K–8 in Venice, Illinois. He holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, a master’s degree in English with an emphasis in writing instruction, and an education specialist degree in administration from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.

Dr. Oliver brings more than 25 years of experience in education and leadership. She joined Ritenour this year as a fifth grade teacher at Marion Elementary after serving as principal at Fairmount Elementary in the Francis Howell School District from 2017–2024. Her previous experience includes leadership roles in the Warren County R-III and Rockwood school districts, as well as classroom teaching in multiple districts. She earned her doctorate in education from Lindenwood University, where she also completed her undergraduate and master’s degrees.

“Mr. West and Dr. Oliver are both outstanding leaders who are deeply committed to students, staff, and families,” said Dr. Chris Kilbride, Superintendent of Ritenour School District. “They are passionate about helping every student learn, grow and succeed, and I am excited for them to serve together as leaders while continuing the strong tradition of excellence in the Wyland school community.”

West succeeds Dr. Kelsey Bodie, who is stepping down to spend more time with her family. Dr. Oliver replaces Kayla Case, who is relocating out of state with her family at the end of this school year.
