Ritenour Announces New Buder Elementary Assistant Principal

The Ritenour School District is pleased to announce that Meredith Alton, an English language arts (ELA) teacher at Ritenour High School and an educational leadership  intern, has been named the new assistant principal of Buder Elementary School, effective July 1. 

Alton brings five years of teaching and leadership experience in the St. Louis area. She joined Ritenour High School in 2023 as an ELA teacher. In addition to her duties as a teacher, she has been an leadership intern at Kratz Elementary and at another elementary school in the St. Louis area. Prior to her experience in Ritenour, she taught ELA at Normandy High School for both general education and special education students. 

Alton earned her bachelor’s in secondary education and a master’s in educational leadership from University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL). She is currently working on her doctorate in education at UMSL.

Alton replaces Ramone West, who will become the Wyland Elementary principal on July 1.
