Ritenour Homecoming 2024: A Fairy Tale Come True

Homecoming Parade 2024

On September 21, 2023, Ritenour School District's homecoming celebration brought the community together in a spectacular display of school spirit and unity. Despite the hot and day, the event kicked off with the largest parade in recent memory, featuring an impressive 32 floats and walking groups. This year's theme, "Once Upon a Ritenour: A Place Where Dreams Come True," set the stage for a magical day filled with creativity and excitement.

The parade, expertly organized by RHS Leadership Parade Chairs Giana Fouché and Ada Volpitto, with assistance from Ashley Reyes Moreno, showcased the talent and enthusiasm of the entire Ritenour community. Participants put their best foot forward, competing for top honors in various categories.

In the Class Floats category, the Class of 2025 secured first place, followed by the Class of 2026 in second.

Fouché said she was proud of this year’s efforts to make the parade memorable for both the participants and spectators.

“I'm so proud of and thankful for the incredible floats and all the participation that helped make the parade successful,” said Fouché. “The parade allows us to bring our community together and I hope everyone was filled with a sense of Ritenour pride.”

Following the parade, homecoming excitement continued at Moore Field where the Ritenour Huskies faced off against their rivals, the Pattonville Pirates. The crowd was on the edge of their seats throughout the game but especially during the fourth quarter. In a nail-biting finish, the Huskies narrowly fell to the Pirates 37-43 in the final seconds of the game.

Adding to the fairy tale atmosphere, the homecoming court received a truly regal welcome. As they were introduced, JROTC cadets formed a Royal Sword Arch for the court to walk through, creating a memorable and majestic moment that perfectly embodied the day's theme. In a historic first for Ritenour High School, three individuals were named to the 2024 Ritenour High School Homecoming Royalty: seniors Ronald “RJ” Johnson, Patrick Pitts and Jasmine Kpomblekou.
