Ritenour Launches March Math Madness

We are excited to launch the first-ever Ritenour March Math Madness—a district-wide competition that brings the excitement of March Madness basketball to math learning! Students K-12 will compete by solving math problems and passing lessons on Imagine Math, earning Tokens (kindergarten - second grade) or Think Points (third grade and up).

This exciting math challenge is designed to inspire students to boost their math skills, engage in friendly competition, and develop confidence in problem-solving—all while having fun!

Competition Rounds & Timeline

  • Round 1 (Feb 10 - 21): All schools participate. The top six schools advance.
  • Round 2 (Feb 24 - 28): The top three schools move on to the final round.
  • Round 3 (March 3 - 7): The school with the most combined Tokens and Think Points will be crowned the champion on Tuesday, March 11!

How Does March Math Madness Work?

Students will log into Imagine Math during school and at home to complete lessons and earn points and tokens.

Schools and classrooms will compete to see who can make the most progress throughout the month.

Top-performing students and classrooms will be recognized for their achievements!

Awards & Incentives

  • Winning School: Earns the March Math Madness Trophy and bragging rights!
  • MVP Classroom (Winning School): The class with the most Tokens/Think Points gets a Pizza Party!
  • Top Classrooms (Non-Winning Schools): The five classrooms with the highest average of lessons passed will receive a Donut Party!

How Can Families Support Students?

  • Encourage your student to log into Imagine Math at home.
  • Celebrate their progress! Ask them about what they’re learning and how they’re improving.
  • Ensure regular practice—just 20-30 minutes a few times a week can make a big difference!

We can’t wait to see our students level up their math skills while having fun in this exciting competition! If you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s teacher or school.
