Ritenour Names New Assistant Principals at Marion and Marvin Elementary Schools

The Ritenour School District is pleased to announce the appointment of two experienced educators to assistant principal roles for the 2025-2026 school year.

Dr. Matthew Macko has been named the assistant principal at Marion Elementary, and Jennifer Nilges will serve as the new assistant principal at Marvin Elementary.

Dr. Macko has spent his entire 12-year educational career in Ritenour, most recently serving as the district’s Facilitator for Curriculum and Effective Teaching Practices at the secondary level for the 2024-2025 school year. He began his Ritenour career in 2014 as a classroom teacher at Wyland Elementary and later at Ritenour Middle School. For two school years (2022-2024), he served as an instructional coach for English language arts and science at the middle school level.

Matt Macko

Nilges transitions to Marvin Elementary after seven years as assistant principal at Hoech Middle School. A Ritenour graduate and veteran educator with 27 years of service in the district, Nilges began her career as a social studies teacher at Ritenour High School, where she taught for 12 years. She moved into administration in 2010, serving as an assistant principal at RHS for eight years before moving to Hoech in 2018.

Jennifer Nilges

Nilges replaces Donna Butler, who retired at the end of the 2024-2025 school year. Dr. Macko replaces Melissa Crowley, who was named principal of Marvin Elementary School for the upcoming school year.
