Ritenour Names New Principal at Ritenour High School; District Announces Interim Principal and Assistant Principal at Ritenour Middle School
The Ritenour School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Angela Chatman as the new principal at Ritenour High School (RHS). The district also announced that Sam Brotherton has been named interim principal at Ritenour Middle School (RMS) and Taylor Johnson as interim assistant principal at RMS. All appointments are effective July 1, 2026.

Dr. Chatman joined the Ritenour School District in July 2022 after serving in the Ladue School District as an assistant principal and behavior interventionist. She served as assistant principal at Ritenour Middle School for the 2022-2023 school year. She has been principal of RMS since July 2023.
Prior to her time in Ladue, Dr. Chatman spent a year as a math teacher in the Ferguson-Florissant School District, where she was honored as the district’s Teacher of the Year. She also served three years as an elementary and middle school assistant principal and instructional coach in Louisiana, where she was named a regional technology leader of the year in 2016. She began her career as a math teacher in St. Louis Public Schools.
“We are excited for Dr. Chatman to begin this new leadership role at Ritenour High School. Dr. Chatman brings a wealth of knowledge and experience into her new role as building principal,” said Ritenour Superintendent Dr. Chris Kilbride. “She is a student-centered leader who is focused on ensuring that each student experiences success. She continually makes meaningful connections with staff, parents and the community to meet the diverse needs of our students.”
Dr. Chatman holds a doctorate in educational leadership in teaching and learning from Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis. She earned an educational specialist degree in curriculum and instruction from Missouri Baptist University and both a master’s degree in educational administration and a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
She assumes the principal role at Ritenour High School which has been vacant for the last three years as Dr. Bruce Green has been serving as lead administrator. Dr. Green will resume his role of Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Education.
“I want to thank Dr. Green for his outstanding leadership and dedication to Ritenour High School during his time as the building leader,” Kilbride said. “His commitment to students, staff and families has made a lasting positive impact on the entire Husky community.”

The district also announced leadership changes at Ritenour Middle School. Brotherton has been named interim principal after serving the past three years as assistant principal at RMS. Brotherton joined Ritenour after serving as an instructional support leader for math at Ferguson Middle School. He previously spent eight years teaching math and social studies at Oakville Middle School and Hazelwood East Middle School.
Brotherton earned a bachelor’s degree in middle school math and social studies from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a master’s degree in educational administration from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

Johnson has been named interim assistant principal at Ritenour Middle School. Johnson joined the Ritenour School District in 2022 and has served as a fifth-grade teacher at Marion Elementary School for the past four school years. She began her teaching career in Columbia, Missouri.
Johnson earned an undergraduate degree in elementary education from the University of Missouri and her graduate degree in educational administration from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
“We are excited for Mr. Brotherton and Ms. Johnson as they step into these important leadership roles at Ritenour Middle School,” said Dr. Kilbride. “Both have demonstrated a strong commitment to students, positive relationships and academic success. We look forward to their continued leadership and the positive impact they will have on the entire RMS community.”
