Ritenour Staff & Alumni Art Show Brings Creativity Full Circle

The Ritenour High School Art Gallery is lined with color, creativity and Husky pride as it hosts the first-ever Ritenour Staff & Alumni Art Show, open through Oct. 30.
The show is a vibrant mix of talent from teachers and former students, each sharing a piece of their artistic journey. The RHS art teacher team, Paul Kennedy, Jocelyn Meyer and Julie Quintero, joins other Ritenour educators in showcasing their work, including Hoech Middle School’s Alex Westjohn, Ritenour Middle’s Stormi Irwin, Marvin Elementary’s Alex Kmetz, Buder Elementary’s Perla Rivera, Iveland Elementary’s Mary O’Brien and RHS student art teacher Emily Hardin.
Adding to the excitement, several RHS alumni returned to the gallery where their love for art began. Veronica Susovica (class of 2021), who recently graduated from Washington University’s Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts, is exhibiting alongside her sister, Margaret Susovica (class of 2024), who is now a WashU sophomore. Also featured are stunning pieces created by Isabelle Moya-Cronk (class of 2016), Ben Chosich (class of 2021), a graphic communications student at St. Louis Community College–Florissant Valley, and Gezel Urbina Torres (class of 2024).
“Whether you’re an art enthusiast or just love seeing local talent shine, this show is a must-see celebration of creativity from some of Ritenour’s finest artists,” said Kennedy.
Visitors will find an impressive variety of mediums—charcoal drawings, acrylic paintings, welded steel sculptures, ceramics, gelli prints, mixed media, pencil and handmade paper. Each piece tells a story of growth, exploration and connection within the Ritenour art family.
The gallery is open during after-school events at RHS through Oct. 30. Private viewings can be arranged by contacting Paul Kennedy at kennedyp@ritenourschools.org.
