Qualifying Assessments
We track the percent of Ritenour graduating students each year who take at least one of five state-recognized assessments supporting college and career readiness.
Ritenour students take the ACT and Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) during the 2024 school year. The ACT is a standardized test used for college admissions in the United States. The ASVAB is a standardized test that measures a young adult's strengths and potential for success in military training.
Once a student has identified goals in their Individual Career and Academic Plan, the student then identifies the appropriate college and career readiness assessment(s) that aligns with their ICAP goal(s). In this way, assessments are more meaningful because they connect directly to personal goals.
The district saw high participation in qualifying assessments, with 89.1% of students taking at least one major test, such as the ACT or ASVAB. Notably, while only 17.1% of students took the ACT, a significant 86.9% participated in the ASVAB.
These figures highlight both the district's successes in early academic planning and the opportunities for greater engagement in upper grades, particularly in academic planning and college readiness assessments.
